     Emily ALBRO b. On 19 May 1830 at Busti, Chautauqua County, N. Y., was born in Busti, not Jamestown.1 She m. William M. GILMORE, son of John Young GILMORE and Jane BURNSIDE, on 15 February 1855 at Jamestown, Chautauqua County, N. Y..2 Emily ALBRO d. On 18 March 1903 at Valley City, Barnes County, N. D., where the Valley City Times reported: "Mrs. Wm. Gilmore died of heart failure at her home in this city Wednesday afternoon. For some time she has been in feeble health, but Wednesday morning she appeared better than usual and was able to take her dinner with the balance of the family. About 4:30 in the afternoon, while sitting and conversing with other members of the family, her head fell forward and she became unconscious. She lingered about two hours.

Mrs. Gilmore was born May 19, 1830 in Jamestown, N.Y., and was married February 15, 1855. Her husband survives her and also eight children. The latter are Evan C. Gilmore of Llewelyan, MN; Mrs. H. B. Thomas of Hope; John Y. Gilmore, of Hope; Mrs. H. P. Todd, of Elba MN; Will, Erwin and Miss Alta Gilmore, of Hope, and George A. Gilmore of Mohall.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore came to North Dakota in 1882, first locating at Tower City, where they lived for several years, afterwards going to Hope. For a number of years they have resided in this city. The deceased was an earnest Christian and has been a faithful member of the M. E. Church for more than sixty years. She was a kind and loving mother, a devoted wife and good neighbor.

The funeral will be held from the M. E. church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.".3,1
     Emily ALBRO appeared on the census of 1 June 1830 in the household of Daniel ALBRO at Chautauqua County, N. Y; which showed 1 male between 5 and 10 (Seymour), 2 males between 10 and 15 (David and ?? another male who died?), 1 male between 40 and 50 (Daniel), two females under 5 (Amy & Emily), 1 female between 5 and 10 (Abigail), 1 female between 10 and 15 (Miretta), and 1 female between 30 and 40 (Jerusha).4 Emily ALBRO appeared on the census of 3 September 1850 in the household of Daniel ALBRO at Chautauqua County, N. Y.5 As of 15 February 1855,her married name was GILMORE.2 Emily ALBRO appeared on the census of 10 June 1870 in the household of William M. GILMORE at Winona County, Minn.6 Emily ALBRO appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 in the household of William M. GILMORE at Winona County, Minn.7

     John ALBRO immigrated in April 1634; arrived on Francis as an apprentice to William Freeborn. Was present when Roger Williams purchased land from Cononicus and Miantonomi (Narragansett indians).1 Apprentice to William Freeborn and accompanied him to RI in 1638, locating in Portsmouth, where he became a prominent man in the public affairs of the town and colony.1 He left a will on 28 December 1710 at Portsmouth, Newport County, R. I., which reads: to son John, he gives south easterly of a line "beginning at a white thorn bush" to grandsons John and Albro Anthony, lands north west of said line, 30 acres in extent, with housing, orchards, they paying legacies. To grand daughter Sarah Anthony, 80 pounds sterling. If daughter, Susannah outlived her husband she was to have equal rights with her sons in house and lands. Grandson John Anthony to have a bed and chest, five sheep and great bible. To granddaughter Sarah Anthony, looking glass, Chests, two pewter platters and five sheep. To son John Albro, one cow, and two napkins, and to children of John, 40 shillings. To children of son Samuel, 50 shillings silver, to be reckoned in both cases at 17 pwt. To daughter Mary Hicks, one cow and two napkins. To daughter Elizabeth Congdon, 50 shillings in silver money, one bolster case, one pair sheets, two pewter platters. To daughter Susannah Anthony, five cows, one heifer, on feather bed upon which she lieth, and warming pan, steelyards, spice mortar, brass kettle, lantern. To granddaughter Dorothy Bently, of son Samuel, 16 shillings. All rights in Misquamicott purchase he gave equally to his two sons.2
