     Phineas PARKER b. Before 13 August 1681 at Groton, Middlesex County, Mass.¹ He m. Abigail SCRIPTURE, daughter of Samuel SCRIPTURE and Elizabeth KNAP, circa 1708 at Groton, Middlesex County, Mass. Phineas PARKER d. On 13 August 1744 at Groton, Middlesex County, Mass.¹
     He was captured by indians on July 27, 1694 (during the same assault that killed his parents) and held a prisoner during four years. He was released, probably in the summer of 1698, and a petition to the General Court dated 31 May 1699 represents him as being "lame of one of his Leggs occasioned by ye cruelty of ye savages," and says that "it is very questionable whether ever he wll be cured, and has little or nothing left him of his Fathers estate for his support." In answer to this petition, it was voted that six pounds of money be allowed out of the public treasury.¹
